Abducted Edo musician regains freedom



Popular Edo musician, Osayomore Joseph, who was kidnapped by gunmen in Edo State, has finally been released.It was gathered that Osayomore regained freedom on Thursday after spending almost a month in captivity.

His manger, Frank Ugbomah, and the state Chairman of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, Willy Eghe-Nova, confirmed his release to our correspondent on the telephone on Thursday in Benin, the state capital.

It could, however, not be ascertained if a ransom was paid.
The ace musician was on October 3, 2017, abducted by some armed men on Upper Ekehuan Road in the Egor Local Government Area of the state.
He was said to be returning from a musical performance along with his wife when the gunmen waylaid and  whisked him away at Orovie village at about 10pm.
