War of words between Timi Dakolo and Daddy Freeze heats up as the OAP replies, calls Timi a dingbat

Daddy Freeze and Timi Dakolo

Timi advised that marriage should be for matured minds and people should stick to their choice partner after taking the vow but Daddy Freeze was not having any of that as he responded to the post with the following; "So pastor Oyakhilome that got divorced is an incomplete person abi? - A friend of mine nearly had his di*k cut off by his ex wife. She tied him down in his sleep, If not for the fact that his younger brother broke down the door and rescued him, today he would have been di*kless.

Abubakar Shekau’s wife may have been killed in airstrike, Nigerian military says

The Nigerian military on Wednesday said it was investigating reports that a recent bombing raid killed one of the wives of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau.
Fighter jets attacked what was said to be “a large gathering of Boko Haram terrorists” at the Durwawa settlement, near Urga in the Konduga area of Borno state on October 19.
The bombing killed jihadists on the ground and triggered a fire, air force spokesman Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya said in an emailed statement.
“Efforts are ongoing to confirm the reported killing of Shekau’s wife, alongside other BHTs (Boko Haram terrorists),” he added.

Jonathan speaks on Maina’s return

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday pushed back against “absurd” attempts by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to link him to the unfolding scandal of how a fugitive returned to the country and took a senior position in public service.

Mr. Jonathan said the fact that efforts are being made to link him to the return and reinstatement of Abdulrasheed Maina underscored how “uncoordinated and rudderless” the Buhari administration has become.

“Are they saying it is President Jonathan that flew him back into Nigeria and promoted him in two levels ahead of where he was as at 2013 when he fled the from civil service?” Mr. Jonathan’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, told PREMIUM TIMES Wednesday night.

“They should stop insulting Nigerians or seeing them as fools,” Mr. Eze said.

Mr. Buhari has come under intense public backlash since last week Friday when PREMIUM TIMES uncovered Mr. Maina’s surreptitious return to civil service.

Mr. Maina was declared wanted by the EFCC on allegations of courting billions in public funds for his own use when he headed the pension reform task force.

The pension funds scandal broke out during Mr. Jonathan’s administration (2010-2015), and the government took disciplinary steps against Mr. Maina by dismissing him from service.

Mr. Maina was an assistant director at the time of his dismissal.

10 tallest buildings under construction to dwaf Burj Khalifa the current title holder

Jeddah Tower (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: 3,281 feet, estimated completion 2020)
This skyscraper is likely will become the first to break the one kilometer mark, not merely because it's already under construction and supported by the deep pockets of billionaire Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, but because it was designed by Adrian Smith.
An architect whose career highlights include the Hancock Center and Burj Khalifa, Smith designed the Jeddah Tower to be the next iteration of the Burj, a shard of steel and glass that, in its triangular shape, recalls a palm about to spread its fronds.

Wuhan Greenland Center (Wuhan, China: 2,087 feet, estimated completion 2018)
Another project being overseen by the firm of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, this in-the-works tower in central China offers a unique, curved profile, a tripod shape that tapers and forms a dome to reduce wind resistance. The entire structure, from the grand lobbies to the corners fashioned in curved glass, present a fluid profile, reducing the building's material footprint. To add an additional air of exclusivity, the summit of this multi-use super tall will include a private member's club.

Merdeka PNB118 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: 2,067 feet, estimated completion 2020)
Property developers are hoping this crystalline tower becomes as much of a catalyst for the city as César Pelli's Petronas Towers, still the tallest twin structures in the world. This is a massive project for Australian firm Fender Katsalidis Architects, which has been attached to a series of tall towers in Melbourne.
Ping An Finance Center (Shenzhen, China: 1,965 feet, estimated completion 2017)
Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, this huge stone-and-glass tower was being assembled at the prodigious rate of a floor every four days during peak construction periods. Initially expected to be completed in 2016, the topped out tower has been delayed until this year.

Goldin Finance 117 (Tianjin, China: 1,957 feet: estimated completion 2018)
Set to be the country's third tallest when finished and an example of the relentless pace of skyscraper development in China, this tower utilizes unique foundations and structural engineering, including especially slender pilings one meter in diameter that are dug 100 meters into the ground. Also called the Walking Stick, the building is capped by a diamond-shaped observation deck.

Baoneng Shenyang Global Financial Center (Shenyeng, China: 1,864 feet, estimated completion 2018)
Nicknamed the Pearl of the North, the 111-story, mixed-use skyscraper will feature a circular inset towards the apex as well as a luxury auto showroom towards the top floor and a smaller sister tower, both designed by Atkins.

Lotte World Tower (Seoul, South Korea: 1,819, estimated completion 2017)

Despite a rocky construction process that's seen a string of accidents galvanize the Korean media, this Seoul landmark is still on course to finish next fall. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the building, a cone of pale-colored glass, is supported by a grid of steel and concrete core.

Tianjin CTF Finance Centre (Tianjin, China: 1,739 feet, estimated completion 2018)

As if to underscore the rate at which China is building supertalls, this is the second project for the city of Tianjin on this list. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill to meet LEED Gold standards, this gently sloping tower features a crystallized facade that accentuates the curves of the building’s frame.

China Zun Tower (Beijing, China: 1,732 feet, estimated completion 2018)

Modeled after a ceremonial “zun” vessel, a bronze or ceramic design meant to hold wine, this gently curving tower will soon rise over the new extension of Beijing’s central business district. Designed by the international architecture firm Farrells, with engineering help by Arup, the unique, concave tower, split between office space, private club and an observation deck, provides additional high-rent space on the top floors and a dramatic lobby entrance on the ground floor. In addition to claiming the title of China’s tallest building, the Zun will also be the tallest structure in a high seismic zone when its finished, relying on steel-concrete composite braces

Skyfame Center Landmark Tower (Nanning, China: 1,732 feet, estimated completion 2021)

Also known as the Tianyu Tower, this 108-story project hasn’t released many official details, despite being on the CTBUH list. Some commenters on an older Skyscraper City discussion page where this photo was sourced have noted the building is named after the developer.

Catalonia: ‘I Can’t Imagine La Liga Without Barcelona’ – Real Madrid President, Perez

Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez insists he cannot imagine “Spain without Catalonia or La Liga without Barcelona”
Perez has admitted concern at the political crisis sweeping Spain amid Catalonia’s drive for independence.
“There are hypotheticals that I do not consider. I am not considering a Spain without Catalonia nor La Liga without Barcelona,” the Real president told online newspaper El Espanol on Wednesday.
“Obviously it worries me like everyone else, but I can offer little assistance.

“I trust the government and the parties that back the constitution that have united to solve the problem in the best possible way,” Perez said.
Spain has been shrouded in uncertainty since an independence referendum called by pro-separatist parties and deemed illegal by the Spanish government on October 1 was marred by a violent crackdown on people trying to vote.
Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, and the Barcelona Football Club has backed the region’s right to self-determination, but stopped short of supporting independence.

Atiku’s Intels fumes as Nigerian govt terminates multi-million dollars contract

Intels Nigeria Limited,
Intels Nigeria Limited, INL, on Wednesday kicked against the termination of its Pilotage Agency Agreement by the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.
In its reaction on Wednesday, the company described the action as “preposterous” and highly injurious to Nigeria.
The company was reacting to decision of the NPA to terminate the agreement between the agency and Intels, several months after both parties had disagreements over the company’s operations in Nigerian ports.

On June 27, PREMIUM TIMES exclusively reported how the Nigerian government was making moves against the operations of Intels, partly owned by former Nigerian vice-president and a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Atiku Abubakar.
The company was founded over three decades ago by Gabriele Volpi, an Italian national who also has Nigerian citizenship, and former Vice-President, Mr. Abubakar.
Earlier in April, President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the recommendations of the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, breaking the near-monopoly of Mr. Atiku’s Intels in the handling of oil and gas cargoes in the country.

But on September 27, Mr. Malami, wrote to the Managing Director of NPA, Hadiza Bala-Usman, directing her to terminate the boats pilotage monitoring and supervision agreement that the agency had with Intels, saying that the contract was illegal.
According to THISDAY newspaper, Mr. Malami in the said letter had stated that the agreement which had allowed Intels to receive revenue on behalf of NPA for 17 years, was in contravention of the Nigerian Constitution, especially in view of the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy of government.

How to prevent losing your hard earn money to Fraudstars during Land Purchasing (Continuation) - Kingsley Oligie

 1. Carry out a thorough Land verification search: Land Verification is a mandatory thing to do before you buy a land. Make sure to involve the service of a land verification experts to confirm the validity of that land you intend to buy unless you risk losing your life saving to Land fraudsters because you were too greedy or ignorant to perform one. So, you should not play I know it all with your money.
Do not let the occasional grumblings from the seller or agent weigh you down or push you to do something rash such as ” A lot of people are rushing to buy this land and if you don’t pay now, the land may be gone” etc. Don’t listen to them". The land was there before you decided to pay interest in acquiring it and it would still be there after you do your search. The seller and agent are just eager to line up their pockets with your money so they throw you that line to you to scare you.

The reasons you must do the search is because you must verify the owner, how he got the land previously, why he wants to sell, what is prompting him to sell whether there is any dispute or litigation that he wants to shift the burden to you or he has bought a very bad land and wants to dispose it quickly before the problem manifests into something bigger or he has dubious and unreliable documents that do not confer title or ownership to him, so he is looking for the nearest fool or unsuspecting buyer to pass that problem to.
Also you will have to investigate the land to know whether it’s genuinely a good land, a land that isn’t under government acquisition or not, a land that is not subject to any communal or legal dispute, a land that doesn’t run afoul of government regulations etc.

And finally investigating all the documents the owner has and ought to have such a;
  • Survey plan,
  • deed of assignment,
  • contract of sale,
  • C of O,
  • Governors Consent,
  • Gazette,
  • Letter of Allocation,
  • Receipts,
  • Deed of Transfer,
  • Power of Attorney etc.

The check list is too much but it must be done so that you are satisfied 100% of the title. This is the only thing that will give you piece of mind and you must contract a land verification expert to do it to give you that extra comfort or peace of mind.

 2. Do not pay for any Landed Transaction in cash: Everything must be properly documented from the cost of the land down to the Receipt or survey fees. This is the only way you can be saved from problem tomorrow in case you want to track down a fraudulent seller of land. I do hear people giving land sellers cash to make them feel comfortable but it’s not right. Even if the signing fees is Small, try your personal best to document it through a recognized bank instrument by paying through either

Checks or Bank Drafts so that there would be a history of the transaction? Also engage a lawyer to prepare a purchase receipt in your favour so that all parties would acknowledge receipt of these Bank instruments as this would prevent the seller from trying to play smart about the exact amount he was paid and when he was paid and for what purpose.

3. Document all your Landed Transaction details in writing: All your Land Transactions must be documented to avoid problem later. There are so many documents you need to make sure the title of that land is properly transferred to you such as a deed of assignment, contract of sale, letter of allocation, affidavits, purchase receipt, letters of administration, survey plan, deed of gifts, etc.

Not having some of these documents is Akin to just assuming you own a land but when you are ready to take possession of the land you now realized someone else has taken over your land and has done his documents to claim ownership over you. Please always consult a property lawyer experienced in real estate to guide you on the documents you need to prove ownership of that land.

4. Do not buy a Landed Property without physical investigation: Viewing a land in Lagos is one of the most mandatory steps you must take before you purchase a land unless you would be opening yourself to be defrauded by real estate agents or dubious sellers. It is very important to check the status of the land to know whether it is a swampy land that would cost you millions of Naira to sand fill or an erosion filled land or you might be buying another person’s land. Don’t buy land’s from the comfort of your office or what your family, friend or colleague has told you. Visit it your self and confirm it is something suitable for you and your family.

5. Always engage the service of Land expert before purchasing: A lawyer, Surveyor and Architect are the 3 most important people you must get in touch with before you buy a land.
An Architect is the one who would advise you on the type of house you are to build and the cost of putting up that structure starting from the location of the land down to the type of soil. Don’t do self service. Engage these professionals to guide you properly. ,Registered Surveyor is the only one that can draw up your survey plans. Without the survey plan you have no description of the land you intend to buy. Use only a registered surveyor pleas, and finally, a Lawyer is the only one that can draw up your contract papers legally. Any other landed document drawn up by any other person is null and void and you would not be allowed to process your papers at the Land registry.

6. Finally, Fence round the Landed property immediately after purchase: Please take possession of your land immediately you buy or within a reasonable time after you buy the land so as to ward off land speculators or Fraudsters prowling around to steal unguarded lands. Don’t just leave it fallow and expect it to wait there for you when you are ready. Somebody else would end up encroaching on your land and steal it.

Immediately you buy it, try to take possession of it by constructing a small perimeter fence around it, so that any prospective buyer of the land knows that it has already being bought and should stay clear of it. Pour gravel or sand there, do a well on the site and visit if frequently. Hire a security to guard it  till you have money to build something tangible.

Judge returns Evans fundamental rights case file to CJ for re-assignment

Evans
Justice Abdulazeez Anka of the Federal High Court, Lagos on Wednesday declined to hear a fundamental rights suit filed by the suspected kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans.
Evans is seeking N300 million damages for his illegal detention.
Anka said that the case file would be returned to the Administrative Judge for further directive.
The judge had earlier heard the case during the court’s long vacation and had adjourned until Aug. 29 for judgment after parties argued it and adopted their addresses on Aug.16.

But the police through its counsel Mr. David Igbodo said another lawyer, Mr Henry Obiazi, who represented the Inspector-General of Police and the Nigeria Police when the case was heard did so without authorisation.
The police prayed the court to set aside all the purported arguments made by Obiazi and to set aside the ruling it delivered on Aug. 16 in which he adjourned for judgment.
When the case came up before another judge, Justice Chuka Obiozor during the long vacation, he held that the case was no longer urgent.
Obizor then returned the file to the Chief Judge, Justice Adamu Kafarati for re-assignment to another judge.
The case was subsequently re-assigned to Justice Babs Kuewemi.
However, Evans’ lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje wrote the chief judge informing him that Anka had already adjourned the case for judgment.
Based on the letter, the case was again returned to Anka.
When the case came up before Anka on Wednesday, he expressed displeasure that the case was returned to him when the issue of judgment had been overtaken by events.
The judge said that since the police had filed other applications, the earlier adjournment for judgment had become void.
Anka added that even if he had written the judgment earlier, it meant that a new one would be written.
Police Counsel, Chukwu Agwu, accused Ogungbeje of “smuggling” the case file back to Anka’s court.
“The case was re-assigned to Justice Kuewumi. How my learned colleague smuggled this case to this court is baffling.
“He did not avail us with a copy of his letter to the chief judge, otherwise we would have reacted,” he said.
